ASK A 3M EXPERT June, 2009 3M™ Scotch® Strapping Tape 8898 Product Description Scotch® Strapping Tape 8898 is a general-purpose tape with a tensilized polypropylene lm backing and pressure-sensitive synthetic adhesive. The tape is designed for a wide variety of industrial and packaging applications. Some typical applications include bundling, reinforcing, strapping, box closing, and appliance securing. The backing provides proper sti ness and excellent abrasion, moisture, and scu resistance. The pressure-sensitive adhesive is speci cally formulated to provide balanced adhesion to most berboard surfaces and a wide variety of plastic and metal surfaces.
